Frequently asked questions

People Also Ask

  • Can you correct cosmetic dentistry done elsewhere?

  • Do you take on referral cases from other dentists?

Yes. Revive Dental accepts referrals for complex restorative, aesthetic and corrective cases, and works collaboratively with referring practitioners to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients.

  • How often should I return for check-ups and cleans and reviews?

Every client is different. Your dentist may recommend a visit every 6-12 months for a general check-up and clean or to review prior treatment. If you have an ongoing plan for treating gum disease, your dentist may schedule visits closer together to bring your gums back to health. Appointments are personalised based on your oral health and the treatments you’ve had and help your dentist monitor stability, protect your investment and address small issues before they become large concerns.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

We reserve dedicated clinical time for each client, ensuring we’re able to maintain a high standard of service. If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, we ask that you provide at least 48 hours’ notice so that we can offer the time to another client. If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment with less than 48 hours’ notice, a cancellation fee of $80 applies. If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, we may not be able to accommodate you. In this case, the same cancellation fee will apply.

  • How many visits will I need?

The number of visits depends on the treatment you have. Some cosmetic dentistry treatments can be completed in one to two appointments, while more comprehensive restorative work may be staged over several appointments for optimal results and comfort.

  • I’m anxious about dental treatment – can you help?

Absolutely. Dental anxiety is common, and we take a compassionate, calm approach. Several steps we can take together to ease your anxiety my include:

    • Calling ahead to communicate your concerns, this way we can prepare your appointment and remove any dental triggers (such as sounds or smells)
    • Booking an early appointment time
    • Splitting up lengthy appointments into shorter ones
    • Practising relaxation exercises and breathing techniques in the lead up to your appointment
    • Distracting yourself with music. Bring headphones to block out dental noises. Ask us about free Wi-Fi, a soft pillow or blanket to keep you comfortable
    • Squeezing a stress ball to occupy your hands
    • Asking us about suitable sedation options during your phone call to us
  • Do you offer sedation options?

Yes. We use local anaesthesia for general dental treatments including fillings and crown preparation. We also offer IV sedation (sleep dentistry) at the clinic and general anaesthesia in hospital for advanced surgical and implant treatments.

  • Is treatment painful?

Your comfort is our highest priority. We use gentle techniques, safe anaesthesia and a calm, considered approach to ensure treatment is as comfortable as possible. Our clients are pleasantly surprised by how relaxed their experience feels. If you feel anxious about any aspect of treatment, we encourage you to call ahead with your concerns, we will aim to prepare your appointment to ensure your comfort levels are met. We also provide dental sedation for clients who have previously experienced a high level of dental anxiety.

  • Are dental restorations custom-made?

Yes. All dental restorations are individually designed and crafted to suit your unique smile, facial structure and bite. This bespoke approach ensures a more natural appearance, comfort and longer-lasting performance.

  • What dental technology do you use?

We use digital oral scanners, CBCT imaging, digital smile design technology and high-definition photography to plan treatments with accuracy and predictability. This technology allows for detailed planning, clear communication and more refined outcomes.

  • Why does having an on-site dental laboratory matter?

Our on-site laboratory allows for greater control over quality, aesthetics and turnaround time. Custom restorations are made by our experienced dental technician and are adjusted with precision, often with fewer appointments, and aesthetic details can be refined closely between clinician and technician for superior results.

  • Do you offer full mouth rehabilitation?

Yes. We provide full-mouth rehabilitation for clients with extensive wear, damage, missing or failing teeth. Each treatment plan is carefully designed to restore comfort, function and appearance in a predictable, long-lasting way.

  • Do you treat complex or previously failed dental work?

Yes. Our team is highly experienced in managing complex cases and correcting complications or failed dental treatments completed elsewhere. This is an area where Revive Dental is particularly well regarded, with co-owner Dr Dave Norcross known for his expertise in tackling challenging full arch dental implant rehabilitation cases.

We take a considered, problem-solving approach to restore both function and aesthetics, even in the most complex situations — with a focus on creating stable, long-lasting outcomes.

  • How long do cosmetic dentistry results last?

With quality materials, precise planning and a commitment to good oral hygiene, cosmetic dentistry results can last many years. Composite restorations tend to last between 4 – 8 years on average, while zirconia or porcelain restorations may last between 10 – 15 years on average. We design smile makeovers with durability in mind and guide your maintenance to help protect your smile in between visits.

  • Can I preview my new smile before treatment?

Yes, in most instances we provide a digital preview to help you visualise your result before treatment begins. In highly aesthetic cases, you can also try on a curated trial smile that allows you to experience what your results may look like. Digital smile design allows for collaboration, clarity around your expectations, predictability and confidence in the outcome.

  • Will my results look natural?

Yes. Our aesthetic philosophy is centred around enhancing what’s already there, rather than creating an artificial, blinding or “overdone” look. The goal is a smile that looks effortless, balanced and authentically yours.

  • How is a smile makeover planned?

Our smile makeovers at Revive Dental begin with a detailed consultation and smile assessment. We consider facial balance, tooth proportions, bite function and your desired outcomes to digitally design a smile that looks and feels natural and refined. Our approach blends clinical precision with an artistic eye, ensuring your new smile complements all of you — not just your teeth.

  • What issues do you treat?

We treat a wide range of aesthetic and functional dental concerns, including discoloured or stained teeth, chipped or worn enamel, gaps, misalignment, uneven spacing and changes associated with ageing. We also address concerns relating to overall smile harmony and balance. Each treatment plan is thoughtfully tailored to complement your facial features, lifestyle and long-term oral health.

  • Do you accept health funds?

Yes. We welcome clients from all health funds and are a HBF Members Plus dentist. Learn more.

  • How long does a check-up & clean take?

For new clients, your first check-up and clean is a comprehensive assessment designed to give us a complete understanding of your oral health and aesthetic goals. It includes a full oral examination, necessary radiographs, digital photographs, 3D imaging and treatment planning, which typically takes 30 minutes.

Your professional scale and clean with fluoride treatment usually takes a further 30 minutes.

For returning clients, check-up and cleans are often more streamlined and may take between 30 to 45 minutes, depending on your individual needs.
